Guardians of the Quiet Earth Series

Guardians of the Quiet Earth began after a season of change, when living closer to the Tetons and Yellowstone allowed me to spend quiet time in the presence of animals and landscapes that feel ancient and attentive. Being near them slowed me down and filled me with a sense of awe, peace and spiritual comfort. I created the series to honor that presence. Not as symbolism, but as recognition of the animals as quiet guardians in their own right, watchful and enduring. As I paint, the process feels reverent and grounding, guided by observation rather than urgency. The patterned background drawn from a visual language I’ve long loved, one that treats nature with ornament and care, allowing each figure to feel both rooted in the earth and held within something timeless. My hope is that these paintings offer a moment of stillness and connection to those who encounter them.
