Above the Quiet was inspired by the mountains of Logan, Utah, during the annual Pumpkin Walk, a beloved autumn tradition I looked forward to attending. Beyond the carved pumpkins, displays, and gathering families, the mountains stood quietly above it all—steady, familiar, and beautiful.
In this intimate landscape, rugged peaks rise beneath an expansive turquoise sky filled with luminous cream-colored clouds. Earthy brown, muted violet, warm gold, and unexpected touches of vivid coral give the mountains both weight and energy. Expressive marks and layered texture capture the feeling of the landscape rather than every precise detail.
