This painting was inspired by a barn owl that lived behind our home in West Kaysville, Utah, during my high school years. Each day as I went out to feed the chickens, I’d scan the trees and old structures, hoping for a glimpse of it. Most days it remained hidden - silent and unseen - but every now and then, I’d catch the flash of its wings or hear it’s haunting call. On the rare days it took to flight in front of me, it felt like a gift - something sacred and fleeting.
